Snow Shoe Tours

COME AND JOIN US FOR SOME FUN IN THE SNOW

Our experienced tour leaders can teach you how to walk confidently in the powder on snow-shoes in and around this scenic area which will give you the skills to explore the terrain around your resort on a rest day and even under the stars in the evening.

3 Hour Tour

Can be scheduled to start in either the morning (9am), afternoon (1pm) or evening (5pm) although custom start times are available on request.

This tour starts at the car park where you learn the basics such as putting your snowshoes on and how to walk in the snow. The tour then takes the path to a small crater at the foot of Mt. Yotei, called Lake Hangetsu. It is a few minutes walk to the rim where the descent to the lake starts. At the frozen lake it is possible to explore around the edges and even walk across if the ice is thick.

We will host a picnic with hot chocolate and snacks and then you can walk back through the trees and you will be confidently forging your own path off the beaten track. It is a fun experience to walk in the forest and a great opportunity to see the the wildlife and ecology up close.

6 Hour Tour

This full day tour can start at 9am and finish at 4pm or start at 1pm and finish at 8pm, allowing one hour for a meal break, although custom start times are available on request.

The tour takes the path to Lake Hangetsu at the foot on Mt. Yotei, then a few minutes walk to the rim where the descent to the lake starts. At the lake, it is possible to explore around the lake and even walk across if the ice is thick enough. Then the group will climb out and walk around the rim, where it takes about 4 hours to get around and there will be opportunities for side trips to take in the view.

We host a picnic lunch with hot chocolate and snacks and then walk back through the trees. It is a very pleasant experience in the forest and a great opportunity to see the the wildlife and ecology up close.

INFORMATION

You lesson will start and finish at the FastFun.jp office or we can arrange to pick up and drop off at your accommodation. A professional guide, snow shoes and poles are included in the cost. We also provide a complimentary flask of hot chocolate, mocha or green tea and some snacks.

Our tours are designed for people with a good level of fitness and of any ability. Personal insurance is excluded.
